- No well controlled human data but suggested possible associaiton between first trimester exposure to the drug and congenital anomalies including: cardiovascular, limb, renal defects, cleft palate, adrenal hypoplasia, diaphragmatic hernia, defective abdominal muscles and exencephaly.
- Causes withdrawal symptoms and urinary retention in neonates exposed in utero.
