 Indication  

  • Antilipemic agent.
 Fetal Risk  

  • Embryodical, fetotoxic and teratogenic in animals at high doses causing increased post-implantation loss, decreased birth weight and post-natal survival, increased incidence of congenital malformations including: visceral, skeletal defects and spina bifida.
  • No adequate human data, should be used only if potential maternal benefit outweighs any risk to the fetus.
 Breast Feeding  

  • Should not be used by lactating women because of the potential for tumorigenicity as seen in animal studies.
