  • Immunosuppressant for prevention of graft rejection.

  • fetotoxic in animals causing increased late fetal loss and decreased live birth rate.
  • Crosses human placenta.
  • No adequate human studies, but reported to cause preterm delivery, intrauterine growth retardation (single case), hyperkalemia and reversible renal impairment in the neonates.
 Breast Feeding  

  • Excreted into milk.
  • Breastfeeding should be discontinued during therapy.
