 Indication  

  • A systemic nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used as analgesic.
 Fetal Risk  

  • Not teratogenic in animals but toxic causing decreased postnatal survival.
  • No adequate human data in first trimester, but chronic use of the drug in third trimester may cause constriction of ductus arteriosus with subsequent neonatal pulmonary hypertension and decreased fetal urine production resulting in oligohydromnios.
  • Prolonged use near term may inhibit labor and increase maternal bleeding at delivery.
 Breast Feeding  

  • Excreted in breast milk.
  • Contraindicated.
